Government requests CNSLR Fratia to make a new nomination for EESC membership

Government requests CNSLR Fratia trade union confederation that appointed Liviu Luca as member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), to submit a new nomination for the EESC. The General Secretariat of Government submitted an official request to Confederation in this respect and informed the Committee on this step.
Under Social Dialogue Law no.62 of May 10, 2011, Article 113, EESC members are designated by CES for the three segments separately (Trade Unions, Employers, Civil Society). CES proposals are sent by Government to the European Union.

The members of the EESC are nominated as follows:
a. Five members are nominated by consensus or in case of disagreement, by vote by each party represented in the Economic and Social Council.
b. In case the nomination is not made by 30 days at least before the stipulated deadline for nominating representatives in the European Economic and Social Council, this will be made by the Executive.
