The state authorities will have a white night to make sure that no Romanian will be in danger because of the blizzard and difficult weather conditions.
We have some critical situations in Buzau and Mihailestidar and in Ilfov at Sindrilesti, where there is a location of over 80 small cars stuck in jam, in blizzard and some 30-40 trucks which are blocked, and the police, and Emergency Situation Inspectorate, gendarmes and troops from the Defence Ministry intervened to support people over there, to move them to shelters, to offer them a hot tea or food, and to make sure that they will not remain overnight, and have problems with life. This is the main preoccupation. In cooperation with Transport Ministry, we start the action of snow removal on national roads so that traffic can be resumed as possibly –in normal conditions. It will not be resumed immediately because tomorrow, by 6.00 p.m., there will be blizzard and storm and it is good for people to find out if in the areas where they go, there will be blizzard, our advice is better for them to delay their departure, than remain overnight or in snow during the day, and their life is endangered. The state authorities have situation under control at present. There have been taken measures to safeguard minors who are now in hospital.
We call on the responsibility of adults not to stay overnight in cars and so jeopardize their life, and the state authorities are mandated to take people to shelters made available by municipalities.
Anyone noticing problems related to blizzard, lives in danger should contact the county emergency command set up at prefecture or at national level, because state authorities have currently all equipments to intervene. Obviously, it is difficult because it is blizzard, but it is a white night of state authorities, for nothing to happen from life protection’s perspective.
Currently, 14 national roads and 13 county roads are blocked and 178 troops from Interior Ministry are acting on it, plus those from Defense Ministry, 382 intervention means being currently in the field. To these, we add troops of county commands. People should know that authorities care about it, and are obliged to save lives when the situation of a man is endangered /…/
