The Romanian Executive hails the signing of the Lisbon Treaty ratification law by the President of Czech Republic, Mr. Vaclav Klaus, meaning, in practice, the finalization of the ratification procedures of this document.
The European Parliament’s increased role in passing the European legislation as well as in strengthening EU’s capacity to act in a series of fields will have impact on the future performance of EU member states’ national administrations, the Romanian administration including.
Once with Lisbon Treaty coming into force, the European project will pass to a new development stage which will be reflected in the European policies’ upgrading and consolidation and also in a deeper democratization of EU functioning, Romania being fully associated to this process.
