Today, PM Emil Boc has had a meeting with representatives of local authorities from Iasi, Neamt and Suceava counties

Prime Minister Emil Boc and Government members had a meeting today with representatives of local authorities in the counties of Iasi, Neamt and Suceava, in the context of the Executive's weekly meeting held in the city of Iasi.
Prime Minister stated that the main objective of the meeting is to inform Cabinet members about the problems of local communities so that they can be resolved more efficiently. The Head of the Executive outlined that local authorities enjoy the full support of Government and urged Ministers to have a direct dialogue with representatives of local structures.
The representatives of local authorities have presented punctual problems of the counties Iasi, Suceava and Neamt and received responses from Cabinet Ministers, and a part of these issues will be resolved by legislative acts approved by the Executive.
The meeting was attended by Mayor of Iasi, Mr. Gheorghe Nechita, prefect of Iasi, Mr. Dragomir Sava TomaĹźeschi, Iasi County Council President, Mr. Constantin Simirad and Suceava County Council President Mr. Gheorghe Flutur and Neamt County Council President, Mr. Vasile Pruteanu.

Prime Minister Emil Boc has met with the management of decentralized services in Iasi
Today, PM Emil Boc and the Cabinet Members had a meeting with Government representatives at local level, from decentralized services based in Iasi County.
PM has outlined that representatives of the Government at local level should enforce the government programs approved by the Cabinet and highlighted as priorities for the next period: the enforcement of the programme “10 houses for specialists in rural areas ", and of the Government Emergency Ordinance on assisting local authorities that do not have financial resources for co-financing European projects, for which EUR 300 million are earmarked from the budget.
"The success of such policies to attract European funding depends on your speed of action," Prime Minister Emil Boc stated.
Prime Minister Emil Boc has urged authorities to be open to social dialogue at local level so that people’s problems can be known and resolved quickly.

Signing of some financing contracts between government representatives and Iasi county authorities

Prime Minister Emil Boc has attended today the signing ceremony of some financing contracts between Government representatives and Iasi county authorities. On this occasion, the Head of the Executive has reiterated the importance that the Government extends to the EU funds absorption: "Romania's getting out from recession may be sped up if we use European money in the best and the most efficient way. Romania has this chance, as a member of the European Union, to use money from European funds. Each project that you put into practice is a small step towards helping Romania get out of recession this year, " PM Emil Boc stated.
Mrs. Elena Udrea, Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, and Iasi County Council President, Mr. Constantin Simirad, signed the financing contract for "Rehabilitation, upgrading and equipping special schools in Iasi County and the contract funding for designing the “Leisure civic area”. Mr. Laszlo Borbely, Minister of Environment and Forests, and Mr. Gheorghe Nichita, Mayor of Iasi, signed the financing contract for "Rehabilitation of the heating system in the city of Iasi in order to comply with environmental standards on emissions into the atmosphere and increase in energy efficiency in the supply of urban heating”.
Also, Ministers Elena Udrea and Laszlo Borbely signed with the Iasi County Council President a protocol for initiating a partnership for Bahlui, which has two components: cut of flood risks and development of the leisure and tourism infrastructure in the center of Iasi.

Prime Minister Emil Boc stated during the press conference at Iasi Prefecture, after meeting with representatives of local authorities, that the Iasi County in the next period, will have significant financial resources, ie, approximately 185 million EUR from European funds and national money, which will be used to complete some projects.
Prime Minister has mentioned a number of local projects that the Government will back both through funding and other measures such as earmarking land or building necessary for their development and completion. In this respect, PM Emil Boc mentioned Iasi Airport modernization, supported by Government and further modernization of 16 kilometers of streets in Iasi - of which about 9 kilometers were completed last year, the remaining to be completed during this year. Also, the Head of the Executive indicated that there has been allocated funds in this year’s budget, for further work to the ring road of Iasi. Regarding the construction of apartments for young people, Prime Minister said that last year, 129 apartments were completed in Iasi County for youth; this year,130 apartments will be completed, and for next year, there have been completed the tenders for other 416 apartments.
The Head of the Executive has announced that Cabinet Ministers will go tomorrow to visit several objectives located in Moldova, in order to return to Bucharest with a portfolio of local issues, to be resolved in the next period.
